Mission 1:27 Project – 6th Edition

Jul 7, 2018

Every time we have had the opportunity to conduct the Widows Project we are continuously overwhelmed with a sense of gratitude and gratefulness from the widows and widowers. Many people ask often; why are you doing this? Why do you do this so often? Why do people who are 1,000s of miles away care so much about us? Why does a Foundation started by a Pastor care so much about Muslims?

Our belief has been and always will be to put Jesus on display in a way that causes people to ask questions. Questions are good because a question introduces a conversation that allows us an open door to present Jesus. It’s our mission to demonstrate God’s love by meeting practical needs while pointing people to the reason behind our efforts…JESUS. It’s no different than Jesus feeding the 5,000 (meeting a practical need) before introducing them to the gospel. We have intentionally branded our event today as MISSION 1:27 to purposefully help the widows and widowers connect with the heart of why we are doing what we are doing. “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress” – James 1:27A. We do what we do as an obedience to the Word of God and to demonstrate our love and compassion of people. We value so much the opportunity for the practical demonstration of living out the Bible.

Today, MISSION 1:27 was a huge success as we distributed more than 3,000 lbs of food to widows and widowers in Igosun, Kwara State, Nigeria. We get so much joy from being a blessing to others and we can’t wait for the next opportunity to touch the lives of these widows and widowers. Once again, a great big thank you to the Implementation Committee, Board of Trustees and our donors. None of this would be possible without each and every one of you! We are blessed to be a blessing! “The generous soul will be made rich, And he who waters will also be watered himself.” – Proverbs 11:25 (NKJV)
