In 2012 Mrs. Ruth Ebunlomo Olagunju the honoree for the foundation was having issues with her eyes. After spending decades cooking with wood over an open fire as well as very ages eyed, the issue was not a huge surprise but she was devastated by her sight problem. After screening and testing by the medical team she was a candidate for cataract surgery.
Although there now appeared to be a solution, she was very reserved about going through the operation because of stories of bad experiences from other patients. With prayer and encouragement, she agreed to do the operation which was a success. Today, she is very happy with the results and so thankful to have benefited from the surgery.
We are so moved by her experience and want to pay it forward to give others the same experience. We have partnered with Tela-Vision Media to promote healthy eyes. Through our “Eyes To See” project, we provide FREE eye screenings, eyeglasses, medication and cataract surgery.
