501(c)(3) Status Approved

We are SUPER excited to announce that the Ebunlomo Olagunju Foundation has received from the IRS (Internal Revenue Service) our 501(c)(3) status!!! Our approval is retroactive to 2016 which means you’re able to deduct your contributions from last year. Please contact us for a donation receipt/letter if you would like to deduct last year’s donation. Moving forward, year-end giving letter/receipt will automatically be distributed to all our donors.

One of the primary benefits of being tax-exempt under IRC Section 501(c)(3) is the ability to accept contributions and donations that are tax-deductible to the donor. Additional benefits include, but are not limited to:

• Ability to apply for grants and other public or private allocations available only to IRS-recognized, 501(c)(3) organizations
• Be eligible for discounted advertising rates, including possible free TV and radio public service announcements (PSA’s)
• Discounts on US Postal bulk-mail rates and other services
• The public legitimacy of IRS recognition
• Exemption from federal corporate income tax. With this exemption, an organization can save 15-35% of its taxable income
• In most cases, exemption is granted from state corporate, franchise, excise, sales, and use taxes

The opportunities that comes with this classification are expansive. Not only will our donors be able to receive a tax benefit from all their donations to Ebunlomo Olagunju Foundation, we also have begun to receive financial relief on the operational side of the foundation through some of our service providers.

We are looking forward to other opportunities such as grants, corporate donations and even possibly reaching out to the airlines to see if they may offer cargo space to transport items or even discounted travel.
