3rd Anniversary Thanksgiving
According to the dictionary, thankfulness means feeling or expressing gratitude. The meaning of grateful is being warmly or deeply appreciative of kindness or benefits received.
Nothing can describe better how Ebunlomo Olagunju Foundation feels. We are so thankful and grateful for what God has done, is doing and will continue to do for years to come. Sunday, June 2nd, we were honored to return to First Baptist Church Igosun, Nigeria to give thanks and honor to God for breathing life into Ebunlomo Olagunju Foundation and sustaining us for 3 years so far.
The saying “Time flies when you are having fun” could not be more true. As we look back over the past three years we cannot believe all that has been accomplished with the willing hands and hearts of our Implementation Committee, Board Members and our very generous donors. Nothing that has been accomplished would have been without each one of you. God has great plans but those plans cannot be carried out without willing hearts and hands.
We have been so very honored that God chose us to be part of this foundation and all that He has planned for it. Our thankfulness was commemorated by a time of giving, honoring, prayer and celebration. Isaac and Holly Olagunju were so touched to have the opportunity to be in attendance. As many joined at the front of the church we danced and gave glory to God for what He is doing.
The celebration was not contained to the church walls. The party of thankfulness trailed the streets from Igosun First Baptist Church all the way to the home of our Honoree, Mrs. Ruth Ebunlomo Olagunju. As we approached her walkway, the prayers and singing of those that arrived ahead of us could be heard. As we trailed her walkway and approached Mrs. Ruth Ebunlomo Olagunju, the glow through her smile was unmistakable. Isaac cast a challenge to his mother to show the enemy her voice of singing that was figurative taken from her when her son, Brother Simeon Olagunju, passed away had returned. She paused thoughtfully and broke out in song declaring to the enemy and the world of darkness that Jesus is the winner and joy has been restored. Her joy and happiness was contagious. She rose to her feet and lifted her hands to the air singing and praising Jesus for all that He has done through the foundation.
Many studies have shown joy to be contagious and that was witnessed first hand! There is love in our hearts, joy in the air and overflowing thankfulness! What a myriad of amazing emotions and feelings. Even if someone didn’t understand the language being spoken, your spirit knew the overwhelming joy in the air. God is so very good!
